5 Tips To Keep Your Truck In Good Condition

Are you looking for ways to keep your truck in good condition? Well, here are 5 tips you need to follow to get the best performance from your truck.

Driving a truck through winding roads and highways is indeed a delightful experience even though it’s a tough task, however, do keep in mind that in order to have a continuum to such experiences, there is a great need to keep the truck in mint condition.

We say this because trucks are hefty machinery that requires care in order to avoid downtime caused by breakdowns. At the end of the day, what matters is a perfectly fine and running truck to enjoy the drive and gain maximum profitability. Therefore, here are some proactive steps you need to consider to prevent breakdowns and keep your truck in the best condition possible:

  1. Service the brakes:

Firstly, it is important to take care of your braking system for the simple reason that occupants, pedestrians and other vehicles’ safety is your responsibility as much as theirs. So, make sure to service them regularly as per the OEM service schedules and try to change the brake pads every 40,000-50,000kms or even before that.

  1. Check Engine:

Even though trucks are heavy-duty performance-oriented vehicles, they are prone to malfunction due to heavy-duty applications. Therefore, keep an eye out for engine problems before they get serious causing breakdowns and breaking the kitty. One way to know that your engine is failing is by the exhaust smoke and decreased power delivery from your truck.

  1. Rust and Corrosion:

Chemicals from industries, dust, water, and salt are things which will accelerate the rusting process of your vehicle’s body apart from the obvious rain and snow. Therefore, it is advised that you remove contaminants right after delivering the goods to avoid corrosion as much as possible.

  1. Optimum tyre pressure:

Just like every other component of the vehicle, tyres play a major role too. As a matter of fact, most of the weight of loads that you carry are handled by the tyres. Since the tyres carry the weight of the loads, they are prone to quick wear and tear. Therefore, it is advised that you regularly check them before heading out to haul cargo. After all, nobody likes to have a flat tyre. Also, make sure to reduce stress on tyres by inflating them with the right tyre pressure mentioned by OEM.

  1. Change Oil:

The last one on our list is changing the engine, transmission and differential oil as per the service schedule mentioned by OEMs. This can help your truck operate smoothly and efficiently to get maximum fuel efficiency and power.

Thus, these are the 5 tips to keep your truck in good condition.
