Mahindra & Mahindra, the Indian multinational automobile manufacturing corporation, announced the unveiling of seven new tractor models at Cape Town in South Africa on August 15th. This announcement has sent ripples of excitement throughout the agricultural industry, as Mahindra is known for producing high-quality tractors that are built to last. These new models are based on Mahindra’s new lightweight tractor platform, Oja.

Mahindra Tractors, which is a part of the farm equipment sector at M&M, launched its new range of tractors Oja, from its global tractor platform, K2 earlier this year.

The name Oja comes from the Sanskrit word Ojas, meaning vitality, energy, and strength, according to M&M. The Oja tractors aim to target domestic and international markets, including the USA, Japan, and South-East Asia.

The development of Oja tractors is made possible with the collaboration of Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery of Japan and Mahindra Research Valley of India.

The Mahindra Oja will be available in four sub-tractor platforms: sub-compact, compact, small utility, and large utility, with total of 40 variants available at various HP levels. This new series will be produced only at the company’s Zaheerabad factory in Telangana where Mahindra’s Yuvo, Jivo, and Plus tractor lines are also manufactured.

Mahindra’s Zaheerabad plant is capable of producing over 330 distinct tractor models ranging in horsepower from 30 to 100. Almost 65% of the tractors manufactured at the plant are exported.

Mahindra’s journey in the tractor industry began several decades ago, and since then, they have consistently expanded their product range to cater to the diverse needs of farmers. From compact tractors suitable for small-scale farming to heavy-duty models designed for large agricultural operations, Mahindra offers a comprehensive lineup to meet every requirement.

Furthermore, Mahindra’s extensive network of dealers and service centers ensures that customers have easy access to support, spare parts, and maintenance services. This commitment to after-sales service has garnered immense trust and loyalty among Mahindra tractor owners.
