In the fast-paced world of heavy-duty trucks, FUSO, a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks, has made quite a splash at the Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2023. With a fresh booth design and exciting product reveals, FUSO is all set to redefine the landscape of heavy-duty trucks.

A Glimpse at the Event

The Japan Mobility Show, a successor to the Tokyo Motor Show, has taken center stage from October 28th to November 5th. Hosted by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association at Tokyo Big Sight exhibition grounds, it’s a stage for innovation and a sneak peek into the future of transportation.

“Future Together” Booth Design

FUSO’s booth at the JMS is a striking representation of their commitment to a sustainable future. Emblazoned with the slogan “Future Together,” it reflects their dedication to building a better world. The booth’s design, inspired by building blocks, showcases collaboration and creativity, symbolizing their role in shaping a sustainable society.

The Star of the Show

The star of FUSO’s show at JMS is the fully remodeled heavy-duty Super Great truck. This impressive vehicle embodies high performance, efficiency, and advanced safety features. It’s not just a truck; it’s a technological marvel on wheels.

The Next Generation eCanter

FUSO is not just stopping at one remarkable product. They are also displaying the Next Generation eCanter with a tipper body equipped with a power take-off device (ePTO) and a garbage truck application. Moreover, they are collaborating with Ample Inc. to showcase the latest eCanter model with a swappable battery module and a swapping station.

eMobility Solutions

In line with the eco-friendly theme, FUSO is launching new eMobility solutions, including the FUSO Green Lease, a leasing program exclusively for the eCanter in Japan, and Truckonnect, a telematics service for vehicle management and monitoring for FUSO products. These solutions are designed to make transportation more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Powerful Engine for Enhanced Efficiency

Under the hood, the Super Great boasts a 6R30 high-performance 12.8L engine, based on the OM471 engine produced in Germany. This engine enhances thermal efficiency, increases combustion pressure, and uses two turbochargers to provide more torque at lower speeds. These improvements lead to better fuel economy, making it not only powerful but also economical.

Top-Notch Safety Features

Safety is paramount in the new Super Great. It comes equipped with the latest Daimler Truck safety technology, including Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA®6) and Active Side Guard Assist® 2.0 as standard features. Additionally, a Front Blind Spot Information System and a high-performance rear-view camera system make driving safer and more convenient.

Aerodynamic Design and Comfort

The new Super Great also sports an updated cab design that enhances aerodynamics. With a super high roof, it offers a roomier interior space and more storage for drivers. This not only improves driving comfort but also contributes to better fuel economy. Plus, the interior comes in stylish black and red designs, depending on the vehicle grade. The LED headlight configuration is another highlight, enhancing aerodynamics and road safety.
