Ashok Leyland DefExpo 2022

Leading and globally renowned commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group also known for supplying logistics vehicles to the Indian Army, showcases three enhanced technology-based products and advanced solutions at the DefExpo India 2022, a defence exhibition conducted by the Ministry of Defence at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

At the event, Col Sonam Wangchuk, Kargil War Hero, Col Sonam Wangchuk and recipient of Maha Vir Chakra, unveils “JEET 4×4”, an all-new Light General Service Vehicle, designed and developed in India by the commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland. 

Further, Mr.Rajesh R, Vice President of Defence & Power Solutions Business, Ashok Leyland also unveils numerous other products at the DefExpo India 2022 in the presence of senior dignitaries of the Indian Army and MoD.

  1. JEET 4×4: 

As per reports, this is a light General Service Vehicle that comes equipped with advanced technology to operate optimally in hills, high altitudes, cross country, plains, and desert terrain. The vehicle also comes integrated with contemporary technology meant to help it operate in the toughest of the toughest conditions. 

  1. LBPV 4×4:

The LBPV 4×4 or Light Bullet Proof Vehicle 4×4 is constructed on a versatile platform, designed and developed indigenously to operate in tough conditions and also carry around 6 combat soldiers into various tactical missions ranging from Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorist operations for Reconnaissance, Quick Reaction, and Patrolling.

LBPV is designed for all-terrain mobility with armoured protection and fitted with a weapon mount to operate independently on the battlefield. Features like all-wheel Independent Suspension, ABS, Ride Height Management and many more options make it a class apart. What makes it even better is the fact that the LBPV 4×4 is a World Class vehicle ‘Made-in-India’.

  1. Tank T72 GB Assembly aggregates:

These are gearboxes for Tank T-72, called ‘Ajeya’ in India. Ashok Leyland will begin to manufacture sub-assemblies and sub-components including the gearboxes for the Tank T72.

Furthermore, the Executive Chairman of Ashok Leyland, Mr.Dheeraj Hinduja mentions the launches at DefExpo India 2022: “We continue to evolve as a trusted partner to the Indian armed forces in providing end-to-end solutions in the area of mobility.
