Namo Bharat Train

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has taken a major step towards improving transportation for NaMo Bharat train commuters by introducing electric autos and air-conditioned electric buses. These services are specifically designed to enhance last-mile connectivity for passengers traveling on the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor. With a focus on providing connected, faster, and eco-friendly transportation options, the NCRTC aims to ensure a seamless journey for commuters.

Electric Auto Feeder Services

To cater to the transportation needs of commuters using the NaMo Bharat trains, electric auto feeder services have been launched at four important stations along the priority section: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai. These electric autos will provide a convenient and affordable mode of transport for passengers, with a minimum fare of Rs 10. By introducing these feeder services, the NCRTC aims to bridge the gap between the train stations and the final destinations of the commuters.

The introduction of electric autos is set to benefit not only urban areas such as Raj Nagar Extension, Jagriti Vihar, and GDA Colony but also important rural areas like Bikanpur, Milak Chakarpur, Shahpur Nij Morta, Basantpur Senthali, and Ataur Nagla. This move will not only enhance accessibility for residents of these areas but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions and promoting a greener mode of transportation.

Air-Conditioned Electric Buses

In addition to the electric autos, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has extended its support by providing air-conditioned electric DTC buses from Anand Vihar bus stand to Sahibabad RRTS station. These buses will operate from 6:20 am to 9:35 pm with a frequency of every 20 minutes. The introduction of air-conditioned electric buses further adds to the comfort and convenience for commuters using the NaMo Bharat trains.

Seamless Integration and Commuter Convenience

NCRTC is actively working towards integrating these last-mile connectivity services into the larger transportation system. Dedicated pick-up and drop-off points have been established at all RRTS stations, ensuring a seamless transition for commuters. By prioritizing commuter convenience, NCRTC aims to provide a hassle-free and efficient commuting experience for all passengers.

As more sections of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor become operational, the range of feeder services will expand. This will further enhance accessibility and convenience for commuters. The inauguration of India’s first NaMo Bharat train by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 20 marked a significant milestone.

Conclusion

The introduction of electric autos and air-conditioned electric buses is a significant step to enhance connectivity. The NCRTC’s efforts to seamlessly integrate these services into the larger transportation system reflect their commitment to commuter convenience. These feeder services will continue to play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient journey for passengers. NCRTC is setting a positive example for the future of urban mobility in India.
