Leading cargo and passenger vehicle manufacturer, Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) announces the opening of a new manufacturing facility at Faridabad, Haryana. As per the brand, it is the third integrated manufacturing facility of the Anglian Omega Group in the State.
It has been mentioned by the company that this mass production facility in Faridabad will initially have a production capacity of 15000 electric three-wheelers per annum. With an investment of USD 10 Million or Rs.75 Crore, the facility will initially manufacture the aforementioned number of vehicles, however, it plans on ramping up the manufacturing capacity by 50000 units in the next three years by investing an additional amount of USD 20 Million or Rs.150 Crore.
Nonetheless, Omega Seiki Mobility will commence production of its cargo range of electric vehicles- Rage+, Rage+ Frost, Rage+ Rapid and Rage+ Swap and Electric Passenger Vehicle Stream at the Faridabad Facility in India.
The opening of the new facility aligns with the company’s strong belief that electric vehicles are the future of enhanced mobility in the country. Further, it is a genuine attempt by the company to create green and ground-breaking vehicles. OSM is also focusing on creating a smart electric vehicle (EV) technology as well.
Speaking on the launch of the New Manufacturing Unit in Faridabad, Mr. Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility said, “As the forerunners of electric mobility in India, Omega Seiki Mobility with the launch of the third facility in Faridabad, Haryana marks another important landmark for Omega Seiki Mobility commitment to growing our business in India. We have an order book of 50,000 plus cargo electric three-wheelers. We have set up this facility to meet the growing demand of the market. I want to thank the government of Haryana; the government has been extremely supportive.”
Furthermore, the brand mentions that the new facility in Faridabad, Haryana is believed to revolutionise the electric vehicle technology in India. Its first and second facility located at industrial Model Township (IMT) in Faridabad manufactures electric cargo vehicles and electric two-wheelers respectively.
Mr. Narang also added that “We have invested USD 50 million in all the three facilities in Faridabad till now and recently inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Pune for producing electric cargo and passenger vehicles. Also, we are receiving good feedback on our electric passenger vehicle, we will be soon launching another facility in Chennai which will only cater to OSM electric passenger vehicles”
Finally, the new OSM State-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Faridabad will be equipped with automated manufacturing systems for logistics and material handling, fabrication and painting, assembly and quality assurance.
