India’s leading commercial and passenger vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors announces a new partnership with EC Wheels India Pvt. Ltd., a Steelman Group company, under which 1,000 XPRES T Electric sedans are to be deployed for cab transportation in Kolkata. With a major chunk of the market share of around 90 per cent in the east, the signing of the formal agreement, memorandum of understanding (MoU) marks the biggest ever electric vehicle fleet order in the region.
Tata Motors announces this new partnership with EC wheels, in order to achieve net zero carbon emission, to move towards a sustainable means of urban mobility. Further, as part of this partnership, the company will deliver vehicles in different phases to EC Wheels India Pvt. Ltd., an app-based urban transportation service in Kolkata.

As for the XPRES-T electric sedan, Tata Motors offers the vehicle in two variants- 213km and 165km range-based models. The vehicle comes with a high energy density battery of 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh which takes around 90 mins and 110 mins respectively, to charge from 0-80 per cent using a fast charger. It can also be charged using any 15 A plug point. In terms of safety, the XPRES-T electric sedan rolls off the showroom floor with dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all its variants.
