Renowned company Lith Pwr Mobility Pvt Ltd. has joined hands with Tork Motors Pvt Ltd., and Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt Ltd., a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company Japan, for commencing three-wheeler electric vehicles (EV) operations in India. Under this strategic partnership, Tork Motors Pvt Ltd will be offering its powertrain and Honda will provide the Battery as a Service (BaaS) swapping solution.
Tork has developed a technology for the integration of efficient and reliable battery swapping services which will enhance the use of batteries to support the electric motor in delivering maximum range, power and safety while offering a greater life span.
Moreover, what makes Tork Motor’s powertrain special is its Axial flux motor supported by the CAN Bus-based controller to give out maximum power delivery while enabling overall efficiency of 94 per cent. The powertrain is mated to a 2-speed gearbox for enhanced and efficient power delivery as well.

Further, the commercial operations for BaaS have already commenced and in the first stage, Bengaluru has been chosen for the establishment of multiple swapping stations to enhance the operations quite smoothly.
On this occasion, Manish Agarwal, Founder of Lith Pwr said, “With the support of our associate partners who have vast expertise & experience in the electric automotive world, we are contributing to the nation building. Since the three-wheeler (auto-rickshaw) industry is considered a major source of pollution in last mile connectivity services, our mission is to provide eco-friendly rides for daily commutes in metro cities with zero downtime on a swappable battery pack.”
Speaking about Tork Motors, the company has already worked with electric three-wheelers’ OEMs in the past, precisely since 2017. It has been manufacturing and supplying powertrain to numerous companies.

The brand also mentions that the broader objective with regards to this project is to enhance the availability of green mobility in the country along with creating a pollution-free and peaceful environment by cutting down on the noise aspect completely.
Furthermore, the partnership comes at a time when numerous policies are being drafted by NITI Aayog to promote battery swapping in India. This will ensure that the industry enables Tork & Honda to jointly provide the most advanced technology and highest efficiency for the Electric 3-wheeler segment.
